As we scale, the accounting function is central not only to compliance but to strategic financial insight, operational efficiency, and enterprise value creation.

We are seeking a Chief Accounting Officer who will lead the transformation of the global accounting organization, driving excellence in financial reporting, controllership, regulatory compliance, and accounting innovation in a highly dynamic, high-growth fintech environment. This role is integral to ensuring the integrity of financial information while enabling the business to scale with confidence and discipline.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of global accounting operations, including general ledger, financial reporting, consolidations, revenue recognition, and close processes.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, SOX requirements, and global regulatory standards across all jurisdictions.
  • Oversee preparation and delivery of quarterly and annual financial statements, including disclosures and audit coordination.
  • Drive the transformation of accounting processes through automation, system modernization, and process optimization.
  • Manage complex accounting matters related to high-volume transactions, digital payments, and multi-entity consolidations.
  • Establish and maintain robust internal controls and financial governance frameworks.
  • Partner closely with FP&A, treasury, tax, and operational finance to ensure alignment across financial functions.
  • Lead the implementation and optimization of ERP systems and financial reporting platforms.
  • Support M&A activities, including purchase accounting, integration, and financial reporting alignment.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, regulators, and internal audit teams.
  • Build and lead a high-performing global accounting organization across multiple regions.

Job Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required.
  • 18–22+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience, including Big Four background and corporate leadership roles.
  • Proven experience as a Chief Accounting Officer, Global Controller, or equivalent executive-level role.
  • Deep expertise in GAAP/IFRS, SOX compliance, and financial reporting in complex, global organizations.
  • Experience in fintech, financial services, digital payments, or high-volume transaction environments strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success managing multi-entity, multi-currency global accounting operations.
  • Strong experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and financial transformation initiatives.
  • Experience supporting IPO readiness, public company reporting, or large-scale financial audits.
  • Exceptional leadership experience managing large, global accounting teams.

  • Partner with the CFO and executive leadership team to support enterprise financial strategy and reporting excellence.
  • Contribute to strategic initiatives, including global expansion, regulatory alignment, and financial transformation.
  • Support M&A strategy by ensuring seamless accounting integration and reporting alignment.
  • Provide insights into financial performance, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
  • Align accounting operations with long-term enterprise value creation and scalability objectives.

Working Conditions

  • Fully remote within the United States with global oversight responsibilities.
  • Collaboration across international finance teams and stakeholders.
  • Travel requirement of approximately 15–25% for audits, leadership meetings, and global operations.
  • High-visibility role with direct interaction with executive leadership and Board committees.

Job Function

The Chief Accounting Officer serves as the enterprise leader for accounting and financial reporting, responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and compliance of all financial information.
